If you live in California in (or near) Sonoma County, Napa County, Solano County, Marin County, or Contra Costa County and want FREE training for your Doberman from John himself, you’re in the right place! If you live in these areas and own a Doberman (or you’re in the process of getting one), we’d LOVE to help you turn your Doberman into the perfect Doberman companion!

Season 1 of Dobie Masters was a huge success, with over 13,000 hours watched (and counting) from owners all over the world. You can see Season 1 stars Cleopatra and her owner, Arthur, below!
Just like you, Arthur saw the opportunity to receive dedicated one-on-one training from Doberman Planet and share his journey with this world. He submitted his interested card and the rest is history! He now has a wonderfully well-trained Doberman and has appeared on numerous Doberman Planet videos.
Arthur says he’s had the opportunity to chat with countless Doberman fans everywhere he goes since he’s frequently recognized while out in public due to his role as the star of Season 1 of Dobie Masters!
What You’ll Get
If you and your dog are selected to be the stars of Season 2 of Dobie Masters, you’ll get tons of free Doberman-specific dog training at no cost to you from a Doberman expert! You’ll get to know John of Doberman Planet very well and work one-on-one with him as he helps guide you and give you the tools necessary to turn your Doberman into the “Perfect Doberman Companion”. We’ll also document your Doberman’s progress on video and publish much of our training sessions on our YouTube channel and social media accounts for the world to see and learn from!
Besides TONS of publicity, you may also receive many exciting gifts during these episodes, just like Arthur did during Season 1! He received countless toys for Cleopatra, a dog bed, treats, a huge gift certificate to his local pet store, a subscription to Ollie, additional training sessions, and a lot more. Although we can’t guarantee you’ll receive any specific gifts in Season 2, but we DO like spoiling our star’s dogs!
What We’re Looking For
There are definitely a few things we’re looking for in the ideal participant for Season 2. We’re looking for someone who is:
- Within a reasonable drive from our office in Rohnert Park, CA.
- Willing and able to put in effort each day to train their Doberman using our guidance (like with any dog training program, it won’t be successful without effort on the owner’s part).
- Willing to show their dog and their life candidly to our viewers.
- Easygoing regarding this process since it’s a bit different than typical dog training without cameras (I.e., there will be extra time spent filming introductions, sponsorship spots, etc).
- Excited to help us share insight into this amazing breed with the world.

F.A.Q.
Why are you doing this for free?
Thanks to one of our amazing sponsors, Ollie, we’re now able to offer this service for free! John’s mission has always been to give back to the breed, and thanks to Ollie and John’s vision of helping Dobermans and their owners, we can now do this at no cost to you! Offering free Doberman-specific training to local owners while filming the process to help even more people worldwide, is a GREAT way to give back to the Doberman community!
How much work will I have to do on my own?
John will likely come to train you and your dog, along with at least one camera person, for a couple of hours during the sessions. This will either occur during one longer session every other week or one short session every week (depending on the schedule of everyone involved). Just like with most dog trainers, John will expect you to work with your dog daily to reinforce the behaviors and concepts. That being said, even busy owners with a full-time job are usually still able to find the time to do the necessary training. The amount of time and work required to train your dog can vary greatly depending on the individual dog, the topic(s) being addressed, and other circumstances.
Will you be able to accept everyone who meets the requirements?
Unfortunately not. We can only accept one star for the next Season of Dobie Masters, but since we’re only able to select an owner/dog within a reasonable driving distance to our office in Rohnart Park, CA, your chances of being selected significantly increase if you live near us!
How many episodes will my dog appear in?
This could vary depending on your dog and your situation! The first Season of Dobie Masters went over 15 episodes. We’ll determine how many episodes we’ll film together depending on many factors, including how much training we feel your dog needs.
We will handle all the filming since we’ll be coming to you! We may occasionally ask for video clips you send in showing your dog doing something when we’re not around, but even a typical cell phone can record this perfectly fine, and although helpful, it’s always optional. You just need to focus on learning as much as you can during our sessions and occasionally sharing insight into your life with our audience in our training videos!
What if I have a specific request, like somewhere I don’t want you filming or something I don’t want to discuss with your audience, etc?
Totally fine! You never have to do or say anything on a video that you aren’t comfortable with. We’re very flexible. Our main goal is simple: to train your Doberman to be the best example of a well-behaved Doberman possible.
